Rejected Matches

When you're sure a match isn't a duplicate, reject it. Dedupely removes it from your current search and keeps it out of every future search, so the same false positive doesn't come back. You can restore a rejected match at any time.

Use Reject only for matches you're sure about. If a match needs input from a team lead or record owner, send it to Manual Review instead.

How to reject a match

1. In your Duplicate Search, select the checkbox of the match you want to reject.
2. In the action menu at the bottom of the screen, click Reject.
3. The match leaves your search results and won't appear in any future search.

How to view and restore rejected matches

Rejected matches are kept per object. To review or restore one:

1. Open the Rejected Matches tab at the top of your Duplicate Search, or go to Duplicate Searches in the main menu, choose the object (e.g. Contacts, Companies, Leads) and open Rejected Matches.
2. Select the match you want to restore.
3. Click Remove from Rejected.

What happens next

• Rejected matches stay out of every search for that object, including Auto Match and Auto Merge.
• Restored matches come back to your Duplicate Searches the next time they meet that search's rules.
• Nothing changes in your CRM. Rejecting only affects what Dedupely shows you.

Troubleshooting

A match I rejected came back. It may have been restored from the Rejected Matches tab. If the records changed in your CRM, they might also form a new match with different records. Reject it again if it still isn't a duplicate.

I restored a match but it doesn't appear in my search. Restored matches only show up when they meet that search's rules. Click Scan, and check your match options and filters.

I rejected a match by mistake. Open the Rejected Matches tab, select it and click Remove from Rejected.

FAQs about Rejected Matches

• Does rejecting a match change anything in my CRM? No. It only hides the match in Dedupely.
• Does rejecting affect all my Duplicate Searches? Yes. A rejected match is excluded from every Duplicate Search for that object.
• What's the difference between Reject and Manual Review? Reject means "not a duplicate". Manual Review means "not sure yet".
• Does rejecting train Dedupely Intelligence? No. Rejecting doesn’t change how Dedupely matches. It makes your results more precise: a rejected match is saved in memory, so it never shows up again in any search for that object, including Dedupely Intelligence.
• What's the difference between Rejected and Excluded matches? You reject a match yourself. Excluded matches are set aside automatically by your Safety Settings. See Excluded Matches.
