Rejected Matches
Permanently dismiss false duplicates from active and future Duplicate Searches, preventing non-duplicate records from repeatedly appearing in search results.
Rejected Matches is included in all Dedupely plans, and the 7-day free trial.
Certain record sets match your search criteria even though you know for a fact, they're either distinct people or companies or you need to keep all records intact. Rejecting a match removes the duplicate set from current and future Duplicate Searches.
Use Rejected Matches specifically for confirmed non-duplicates. If a record set requires input from a team lead or record owner before making a final decision, send it to Manual Review instead.
Rejection doesn't happen automatically, as duplicate sets only move to Rejected Matches when manually flagged.
How to reject a match
- In your active search results, click the checkbox on the right side of the duplicate set to reject.
- In the action menu at the bottom of the screen, select "Reject."
- The selected set is immediately removed from your active duplicate search and excluded from all future searches.
How to view and restore rejected matches
Rejected matches are kept under each object type. To review or restore a rejected match:
- Go to the "Duplicate Searches" menu in the main navigation.
- Locate the target object (e.g., Contacts, Companies, Leads).
- Select "Rejected Matches."
- Select the record set to restore and click "Remove from Rejected." The set will return to active duplicate searches if it meets your search rules.
