Auto Match
Auto Match keeps matching new records in the background and lets you know when new matches reach the threshold you set. Nothing merges on its own: you decide whether to merge each match, send it to Manual Review or reject it.

Auto Match or Auto Merge?
Both keep finding new duplicates. The difference is who makes the call.
| Auto Match | Auto Merge | |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | Finds new matches and notifies you | Finds and merges new matches on a schedule |
| Who decides | You, match by match | Your settings: match options, Merge Rules and schedule |
| Best for | Duplicates that need a look first: similar names, shared emails, key accounts | Duplicates you always merge the same way: exact emails, repeat form fills |
| A good fit when | You want control over every merge without keeping track of new matches all the time | You know how every match from a search should be merged |
Good to know
- Nothing merges on its own. Auto Match only finds and notifies. Every merge is your decision.
- It follows your search. Auto Match uses the fields, match types and filters of the Duplicate Search it's on.
- It works in the free trial. Try Auto Match in full on your own CRM.
- Safety Settings still apply. Matches with too many records or example data go to the Excluded tab, as in any search.
- Everyone is notified by default. Anyone in the account who doesn't need the alerts can turn them off in the Notifications menu.
