What Zoho CRM does on a merge
Zoho CRM has a real merge, and Dedupely calls it.
The Primary keeps its ID, so reports and integrations referencing it keep working, and Zoho CRM moves the related lists, activities and attachments across itself.
Dedupely writes the winning field values onto the Primary first, using your Merge Rules, and then calls the merge. That is what makes the outcome yours rather than the default.
Where a duplicate carries a very large related list, Zoho CRM schedules the merge instead of running it on the spot. Dedupely polls until Zoho CRM reports it finished rather than assuming it worked.
Duplicate accounts split their contacts and deals across two parents, so the forecast counts the same opportunity twice and the report never agrees with the pipeline.
One account per company means the forecast stops counting the same deal twice.
Zoho CRM keeps the Primary record ID on merge, so nothing downstream loses its reference.
How Zoho CRM deduplication works here
An OAuth authorization from your own Zoho CRM account. There is no API key to generate or paste, and the connection carries your permissions, not more.
Whole objects, not part of one: switch any object off in CRM Settings. After that, new records sync and nothing else changes.
Leads, Contacts, Accounts and Deals run through Zoho CRM’s own merge over the API, after Dedupely has written the winning values onto the Primary.
Any object you have not switched on, and every field outside the records in the match. Merging is the only write Dedupely makes.
No merge can be undone: not in Zoho CRM, and not by any tool that merges through it. What stands in for undo: Manual Review holds anything you are unsure of, and Merge History keeps the original values of every record, exportable as CSV.
