### Contacts you would import twice

Google Contacts creates a contact for every row. It does not check for duplicates on import. You merge them by hand afterward.
**This checker finds the repeats before they land.**

### Start from the columns Google maps

Emails go in E-mail 1 - Value. Labels need three colons between them. Birthdays read as year-month-day.
**The template uses the column names of the Google Contacts template.**

### Questions about Google Contacts imports

How many contacts can I import into Google Contacts?
Up to 3,000 a file and 25,000 in an account.
What is the Google Contacts CSV format?
A header row with names like First Name, E-mail 1 - Value and Phone 1 - Value, then one contact per row.
How do I add a phone number with a country code?
Start it with a plus sign and the country code. Spaces, dashes and brackets are optional.
How do I put contacts in labels?
Use the Labels column and separate labels with three colons, such as Work ::: Clients.
Does Google Contacts merge duplicates on import?
No. Every row becomes a contact. Merge & fix finds them later, one account at a time.
