### Sync your data with Dedupely

Upload a CSV or Excel file and Dedupely treats it like any other data source: it scans the rows for duplicates, and you merge them before the file reaches your CRM.

Every column in your file can be used to match on, and to merge.
**First sync with Dedupely**
Upload your file and Dedupely reads it straight away. The first row is treated as the column names.

**How long does it take to sync?**
Most files are ready in a few minutes. A large file takes longer — allow about 30 minutes for every 100k rows above 300k.
**Estimated sync time**
- 0-50k records: 2-15 minutes
- 50-300k records: 15-90 minutes
- 300-600k records: 1-3 hours
- 600k-1M records: 3-10 hours
- 1M+ records: around 10-12 hours

**Why does Dedupely need to sync my data?**
To apply our match and merge engine our algorithm needs access to your records. Once the sync is ready you will be able to match and merge your duplicates.

### Can I choose which records to sync?

The first upload brings in every row to make sure we get all objects, fields and columns (contacts, companies, deals, etc.). You can turn record types off later in CRM Settings.
We will always sync all the records in a particular record type.

### Can I connect a sandbox environment in Dedupely?

We currently don't have the capabilities to connect sandbox environments. To ease any concerns - Dedupely will never merge any data without you instructing it. Uploading a file does not trigger any type of merge. Once your data is synced you can match duplicates freely. Merges only happen when you select matches and click Merge, or turn on Auto Merge
